Charles Jeszeck

Charles Jeszeck is a Director in GAO’s Education, Workforce and Income Security team. He oversees work on retirement issues, including traditional pensions, 401(k) type plans, Individual Retirement Accounts, Social Security, the labor market for older workers and other national retirement security policy issues.

Charlie joined GAO in January of 1986. Charlie issued worked on labor issues (Unemployment Insurance, OSHA, and the Fair Labor Standards Act) until 1998 when he concentrated on retirement security issues. Prior to GAO, Charlie taught economics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and at Barnard College. He also served as research director for the California Labor Federation, AFL-CIO and as assistant research director for the Service Employees International Union in Washington, D.C.

Charlie earned a PhD degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Stony Brook University.
