Travis J. Masters

Travis Masters is a Director in GAO’s Contracting and National Security Acquisitions team. He oversees a wide range of issues in DOD and DHS systems acquisition and contracting, as well as select areas of disaster relief contracting. 

Travis joined GAO full-time in July 2001. He has led reviews identifying and applying leading practices for product development, portfolio management, and cost estimating and budgeting to complex acquisition programs, policies, and contracting approaches. Travis has also led numerous detailed reviews of DOD tactical and strategic aircraft systems, DOD weapon system requirements processes, and DOD systems engineering practices, among other things.

Travis earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration from The Ohio State University in 2001 and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Business Administration in 1998 from Cumberland College, KY (now known as the University of the Cumberlands).

He works in GAO’s Dayton Field Office.
