Timothy P. Bowling is the Chief Quality Officer of GAO and Managing Director of the Audit Policy and Quality Assurance team. This team establishes audit policy and procedures for GAO, sets targets for GAO’s teams and measures their performance against those targets, and reviews and approves GAO's products.

Tim joined GAO in January 1978 and has worked on a broad spectrum of issues ranging from environmental protection to information technology and communications. He joined GAO following three years as a lecturer at the university level and a consultant to private industry.

Tim earned a doctorate degree from Drew University and a bachelor's from Haverford College.
