The DATA Act requires federal agencies to submit their spending data for reporting on USASpending.gov, a publicly available resource.
GAO OIG contracted with an independent public accounting firm (IPA) to review GAO’s compliance with the DATA Act and assess its DATA Act submission for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2020. The IPA concluded that GAO’s data submitted for the fourth quarter of FY 2020 was accurate, complete, timely, and of excellent quality. Further, the submission was in accordance with the data standards established by the Office of Management and Budget and the Department of the Treasury. No recommendations were made.

This report addresses (1) the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and quality of GAO's Fiscal Year (FY) 2020, fourth quarter financial and award data submitted for publication on USASpending.gov and (2) GAO's implementation and use of the Government-wide financial data standards established by the OMB and the Department of Treasury, as required by the DATA Act of 2014.
