GAO Launches Redesigned Website

WASHINGTON, D.C. (February 13, 2020) — The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) today launched a mobile-friendly redesign of its external website that incorporates new features to better meet the needs of users.  With upgrades ranging from a streamlined design to an improved tool that connects users to agency experts, the new site will allow visitors using mobile devices to more easily access the fact-based, non-partisan reports and other information GAO is known for.

“This  website will better help users access  our work and  recommendations on how to improve government, no matter what kind of mobile device they may be using,” said Gene L. Dodaro, Comptroller General of the United States and the head of the GAO.  “We make thousands of recommendations with the potential to save the government billions of dollars and improve operations. This website will help us better ensure we keep Congress and the public informed about needed improvements across the federal government.”

 Website upgrades include the following:

  • “Mobile-friendliness” that allows better access from a phone or tablet
  • Redesigned, modern look that is easier to navigate
  • Improved search tools for locating information faster
  • Integrated WatchBlog to help find GAO blog posts on reports and topics
  • A more robust tool to connect users to GAO experts
  • Enhanced database for more easily displaying key information throughout the site
