Recent cyberattacks, such as the ransomware attack on Colonial Pipeline last year, have illustrated the significant economic cost cyber threats can pose as well as the importance of preparing for future incidents and their financial tolls. But insurance companies may be unwilling or unable to offer coverage against this growing threat, which has the potential for catastrophic losses.
